Hi, I'm James DiGregorio!
My design application specialities include Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Viz RT. Often times while working for the local news, challenges arise in which I am required to wear many hats. Through my work in that industry, I learned how to animate, script and trouble shoot all Adobe applications and VIZ RT. As you can see from my work, I do not specialize in one particular area. It is important to work outside of your comfort zone and try to do what is needed while learning new skills.

Show Animations
Creating motion graphics for any media is always a challenge. It is even more of a challenge when we are dealing with the fast paced industry of news. Every major segment requires an animation to let the viewer get a sense of what they are going to expect as far as content. These are created with strict guidelines in place as far as title locations and time requirements.
Explainer Graphics
As the industry has changed, "explainer" graphics are becoming a new way for viewers to get their information. It can be a fun way to tell a story or it can be a way to just help BOOST an already great piece. The designer on these projects is typically the single most important producer of the pieces since they are the ones who will work within the package requirements and have to create interesting ways of telling a visual story.
Viz RT Design/Template Building
Viz RT is THE industry standard for getting graphics animated and on-air. This is not a program you just learn. It takes years of use and expertise to master. Having worked with VIZ for the past 15 years, I have fully grasped the ability to design, build templates, and troubleshoot. Typically, this is something that is done by MULTIPLE people, and I pride myself in having studied all areas of Viz and it's multiple applications.

Lead overall ideation, coordination and development of all creative assets on projects from marketing, promotional, and editorial sides of News 12 Networks. Offered design solutions that effectively solved and enhanced our networks overall brand, look, and feel.
Lead Senior Network Graphic Designer/ Animator
News 12 Networks / 2018-2023
Responsible for all on-air graphic requests across all 7 News 12 stations. Also, work daily with Marketing, Digital, Interactive, and Social Media on making sure our online designs are strong, clean, and well designed to match our on-air look and feel. In direct communication with the Creative Director on all design decisions.
Senior Graphic Designer / Animator
News 12 Long Island / 2013-2018
In charge of all projects created in Viz that have to be used across the News 12 Networks. Oversee creation, distribution, troubleshooting and communicating with the artists around the network.

Worked on animations that focused on local events. Had more time to focus on creating detailed animations. Design work was requested by the Creative Director, producers and reporters.
